When I was creating our baby registry I had no idea what to add (and no idea what we would actually need). As a soon-to-be new mom, I felt so overwhelmed!
So if you are about to be a new parent, congrats! Here is a no-nonsense list of what I would add to my baby registry if I were to do it all over again.
Baby Gear (Mobility & Comfort)
Stroller
We adore our Bugaboo Donkey!! We loved this as a single stroller with its convenient side bag, and we love the double even more! Easily maneuvers through Toronto sidewalks, cafes, and grocery stores, and looks super chic on all our adventures. Both our babies love this bouncer, and it helped free up our hands. Because it’s light weight this is so easy to move around at home, and also travels with us when we are travelling. (It makes the perfect baby beach chair too!)
Baby carrier
This is a must, not only when out and about, but also when you are at home and need to get things done, but baby is fussy. We have 2 babies under one, and therefore have 2 carriers:BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Mini (for our youngest) https://amzn.to/4ec71Zo
Baby Bjorn Carrier One Air
Bugaboo Stardust Play Yard
This play yard is so easy to set up/pack up! This is great for travelling, and has an infant insert as well.Car Seats
We love our Evenflo Shyft Dualride because . . . drum roll. . . they have built in wheels! They essentially transform into a mini stroller, and make going out SO much easier! We love these for running errands, going to appointments, and for travel!
Bottle Feeding
Baby Brezza
If your baby will be formula fed. the Baby Brezza is a must! The ability to prepare your baby’s bottle with a quick click of a button is definitely a game changer.Bottles - My tip is to avoid buying too many bottles before baby comes because baby will decide what they like/don’t like. We thought we’d be able to use the same bottles for baby 2, but he refused to use them, therefore our babies both use different bottles:
Our oldest uses the Phillips Avent
And our youngest likes the Dr Browns
Bottle Sanitizer
This makes cleaning bottles so simple! We use the same Philips Avent SanitizerBottle Scrub Brush
We opted for the Boon Travel Drying Rack that is portable and comes with bottle scrub tools. So small and compact - we use this at home and when traveling.
Diapering
Diaper Genie
We were on the fence about this, but someone bought us one, and I must say I’m not sure what we’d do without it!Diapers
I recommend trying a few brands to see what you like best. We’ve tried several, and now use Pampers Swaddlers.Portable Diaper Pad (bonus - one with pockets!)
Having a diaper pad for on the go is a must, and if you are looking to travel light and not take a full diaper bag, this one is amazing! It’s also helpful for keeping all diaper essentials handy during the change.Disposable Diaper pads
We prefer a reusable diaper pad for most changes, however we adore disposable diaper pads for traveling or when heading to less family friendly venues.Diaper Warmer
Our babies already dislike diaper changes, and cold wipes makes this even worse!Diaper Bag
There are so many great ones depending on your style. Here are the ones we use regularly:
Eating
High Chair
Eating solids comes quick! Ensure you have a high chair ready for your little one. We use and love our Tripp Trapp for the minimalist design that makes it easy to clean!Baby plates
There are a lot of great options. We love to use silicone plates with suction cups on the bottom to keep them secure.Baby spoons
We’ve tried a few, and we are still exploring what our oldest likes best.Baby water cup
We have a few different ones and, so far, our baby doesn’t love any of them, but we are still learning.Bibs
We like silicone bibs for ease of cleaning
Sleeping
Bedside Bassinette
We had our oldest in our room until she was 7.5 months, and our youngest is still sleeping in our room next to the bed. We loved this bassinet because it had breathable mesh all the way around for added safety.Sleep Sack
We love the Kyte sleepsacks! They are a bit of a splurge, but the great thing is they grow with baby. Our oldest has been wearing the same one for several months.Soothers
Not everyone agrees with this one, but we do use soothers with our babies, especially at night. Find the ones that your baby prefers.Noise Machine
This always helps our babies calm down and recognize it’s time to sleep. It also masks other noise in the house so that we don’t have to tiptoe around.Crib
So many great options! We loved this one.Owlette
The Owlette system gave us so much peace of mind when our first baby was born! We have the sock and the camera. We love that we can track the baby’s stats on our phone, and that it has the option to record the baby’s movements at night. No Wifi baby monitor
We love this camera because it doesn’t require wifi. We use it for traveling, and also to move around the house if our youngest is napping in different rooms. It’s so easy to use and no setup required!
Bathing
Angel Care Chair
This bath chair is so helpful, especially for tiny newborns, to help ensure they are safe during bath time.Towels
We love soft and absorbent muslin towels and washcloths for bath time with our babies.Toys
Tip- Many baby toys have a hole in them to squirt water, but these can become moldy on the inside. We opt for toys with no holes that are easy to clean. Here are some of our favorites
